Webb6 juni 2024 · When emulating 512k logical sectors on an HD or SSD that uses 4k physical native sectors, an operation that writes 4k will result in 4 operations instead of 1. This increases overhead and could result in reduced IO and speed, as well as create more wear on the SSD when performing writes. WebbDoes SSD get slower when full? Webb12 nov. 2024 · I have a sata ssd which when I use on windows (dual boot) is just as advertised have a read write performace around 500MB/s, but on the other hand when I use it under ubuntu (20.4-20.10) write performace is just shy of 100MB/s, read performance is although OK. Webb2 feb. 2024 · 88% is totally fine and you understood it correctly. The "worn out" part was implied on my part by your "that this SSD is not really damaged". It was not meant to be a direct response to your SSD, but a "damaged" SSD in general. Damage often occurs after the disk is worn out, so that was the implied part on my side. Sorry for the confusion.
