Optic pathway gliomas in children
WebDec 2, 2024 · Optic pathway gliomas (OPGs; also referred to as optic gliomas) are low-grade astrocytic tumors that occur in the optic nerve, chiasm, or both. They occur sporadically and in patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). Although often indolent, OPGs can cause clinical symptoms due to mass effect and visual loss.
