My '04 1500 Classic has 17K miles on it and the swing arm has never been removed. The job took me about 3 hours to complete, should be faster the next time.

Web3 jun. 2006 · Posted May 31, 2006. The bolt turns because it goes thru some sleeves inside the swingarm. The bolt is most likely corroded to the sleeves which prevents the bolt from coming out. Disconnecting the top of the shock isn't going to do you any good. There's lots of ideas on how to remove a corroded swingarm bolt here.
